Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson electrician to join our dynamic team and play a key role in the development of the IRES Windmine and solar integration scope through its pre-commercialization phase.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide inputs to the design and development of the IRES Windmine and solar integration, collaborating closely with IRES technology development director and third-party contractors to integrate electrical and control systems components seamlessly into the turbine design.
  2. Support the testing, validation, and certification of electrical systems, identifying and addressing any issues or inefficiencies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Provide technical inputs into the wind turbine system integration strategy enabling seamless interconnection (hybrid) design with other renewable energy (e.g. solar) and storage (e.g. battery) systems.
  4. Provide technical support throughout the pre-commercialization phase, working closely with third-party contractors to refine and iterate on the design as needed.
  5. Stay informed about advancements in renewable energy technology and industry best practices, incorporating new findings and innovations into the development process where applicable.
  6. Contribute to the documentation and reporting of project progress, findings, and recommendations, ensuring clear communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.

The Journeyperson Electricians will be expected to install, alter, repair and maintain renewable energy (e.g. wind/solar) electrical systems and to provide heat, light, power, control, signal or fire alarms for all types of buildings, structures and premises.

In general, but not limited to, electricians:

  1. Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings, specifications, and applicable codes to determine wiring layouts,
  2. Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings,
  3. Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors,
  4. Position, maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels and fuse enclosures,
  5. Install, replace, maintain and repair electrical systems and related electrical equipment,
  6. Install data cabling,
  7. Splice, join and connect wire to form circuits,
  8. Test circuits to ensure integrity and safety,
  9. Install and maintain fibre optic systems, and
  10. Install, replace, maintain and repair electrical generation sources and related equipment

Qualifications:

  1. Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent practical experience is highly desirable.
  2. Proven experience in the installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of electrical systems
  3. Familiarity with industry-standard and tools for electrical design and installationsing).
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  6. Experience in the renewable energy sector is preferred, particularly with wind turbine and solar systems.
